The typical weather pattern along the bay this time of year is for winds of 15 MPH or higher.
For this trip to Metropolitan, we were met with more benign conditions for our event.
The tournament director tried a new approach for this year and allowed the players to choose the tees they wanted to play from.
As a result, there was no low gross competition.
In the First Flight, Jack Simpson and Buzz Ogren tied for first with matching 8-under 64's sending the match to a card playoff.
Jack took the top spot with a better score on the last six holes.
Darien Arends shot a 69 in the Second Flight to take first place with Dominic Ascani finishing second at 71
and Keith Arends finishing third at 73.
First place in the Third Flight went to James Kaku with a 2-under 70.
Tournament Chairman Chuck Pickett was second with a 73 while Tracy Powell took third with a 75.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who made the trek to Metropolitan.
