Pacific Grove Four Ball
September 22, 2018

Pacific Grove has always been one of our favorite destinations for a tournament.  The course opened in 1932 and continues to be a challenge despite its short length.  Perhaps it's the steady breezes, ice plant and sand dunes that make this course a real test. Last year we played an Individual Low Net where each player was on his own. This year the 32 players challenged the course in a Four Ball event where the better score in each two man team counted.

In the First Flight, the team of Christopher Dierkes and Steven Guzman shot a great 9 under 61 to take the top spot. Three shots back in second place was the team of Kevin Yamada and Dave Bridgman. The team of Doug Marinkovich and Matt Passell also finshed at 64 but finished third in a card playoff.

Second Flight top honors went to Jack Simpson and Dan McNulty with a 62 aided by Jack's fine gross 77 on the par 70 layout. One stroke back at 63 was the team of Jay Zimmer and Robert Gaffney. Third place went to Trevor Heathorn and James Kaku at 64.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone for coming out.
