The club traveled a couple of exits south from Palo Alto to Shoreline Golf Links in Mountain View for an 8am shotgun start. Following the golf, most members stuck around and and heard from various board member about the state and the future of the club as well as the status of our home course, Baylands Golf Links, set to open on May 26th.
The tournament was divided into two flights with prizes and TOC points awarded for low gross and low net results. In the First Flight, Jim Cowie took the low gross with a fine 75, the same score he posted in winning last year's visit to Shoreline. Low net went to John Osenss with a 66. Doug Marinkovich and Keith Arends tied for second with three players taking fourth place and sharing the $12 prize for that spot.
Second Flight low gross went to Ross Erickson with a very strong 81. Tournament Director James Kaku won low net with a 67 while Ken Arends at 68 and Darien Arends at 71 continue the family's fine performance in this event. Like the First Flight, two players shared the $12 prize for fourth place.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks for coming out.
John Frykland, Webmaster and fourth place finisher in the First Flight
