Over the weekend of September 7 & 8, 2019, the club held the first two rounds of the Match Play Championship at Baylands Golf Links.
43 players signed up to compete which required a bit of bracket wizardry on the part of tournament director James Kaku.
He constructed ten brackets of four players each and one bracket of three players giving one player a bye in the first round.
At conclusion of play on Septermber 8, eleven players remained in contention leaving one head-to-head match and three
three-way matches to be played. Click the link below to see the current standings.
For the next rounds, players scheduled their own matches and reported the results to the tournament director.
Eventually the field was whittled down to the finalists, Dave Bridgman and Heath Black.
The finals were held on October 13 at Baylands Golf Links where Dave quickly moved out to a five up lead after eight holes.
Heath won the next five holes to pull even and continued his surge by also winning next three holes to take the championship 3 and 2.
Congratulations to Heath and Dave and thanks to all those who participated in the Match Play Championship.
