Seascape Maximum Score
September 19, 2020

The early morning fog began to burnoff as Palo Alto Golf Club's finest 24 players arrived into the quite beach town of Seascape. Seascape is just half a mile away from the Monterey Bay and the sounds of crashing waves can be heard from much of the course. This par 71 track, nestled along grand retirement homes, provided our players with spectacular rolling fairways and prestine greens to allow for the taking. The Maximum Score format, of net double bogey, allowed all players to play agressively without the worry of extremly high scores on any one hole.

The first flight was played from the Gold tees with a total distance of 5,813 yards. First place went to Douglas Olkein who shot a net 73. Jack Simpson finished in 2nd with a net score of 74, and Rick Wheat and Kevin Yamada tied for 3rd with net 75.

The Second Flight played from the Silver tees which is not much of a distance change at 5,525 yards. None the less, another tight finish, with Gary Pruitt edging out the competition with a final net score of 74. Second place was a tie between Roger Kalemba and Gordon Cole with a final net score of 75. Dominic Ascani and Lou Sehl finished strong at net 76 to tie for 4th.

Thanks to all of you who came out to this spectacular golf course and congratulations to Douglas Olkein and Gary Pruitt on winning their flight!
