January, 2025 Board Minutes
Minutes of PAGC Board Meeting – 1/9/25 - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Meeting convened at 5:31 pm
Attendees: Doug M, Patrick B, Chris Douvos, Brian G (6 pm), Niraj J, Franco M, Chris
Reviewed/approved minutes from 12/12/24 meeting
Patrick will shadow Rafa (leaving board after this year) and take over Membership
Brian Garcia will shadow Doug on tournament scheduling (Baylands is easy!)
Going forward, Niraj will post minutes on website (get help from Franco if needed)
Waiting for suitable picture oh John Driver to post on website – Player of the Year
should be the “front man”. Chris D will send picture of him hitting wedge to par 3.
Need to reorganize website (Chris D will handle):
o Easier to find board members, contact info
o List TDs for 2025 events
Franco and Doug attended NCGA Membership meeting, we have 2 choices:
o Continue the current way, but will have to pay in full for (or defer) late joiners
o Switch to rolling 1 year memberships (has some challenges)
▪ Makes “new member event” more difficult to organize
• People who joined in last 12 months and haven’t played?
▪ Have to follow up throughout the year with people who don’t renew
• Institute a lapse fee if they don’t renew on expiry
Money on the books (at Baylands) down to $8K. Discussion if we need new policy
o Currently, we have no policy re expirations of prize funds
o Per bylaws, board has no “ownership” of this money (recommend change)
o Will allow 30 days to spend once you leave the club
o No need to do anything drastic, we will make some small changes, continue
outreach
Removed two honorary members (cole, Frykland) and added two new ones
Go Fund Me very successful – raised $1260 for gratuities to Baylands staff
o Will present checks to 7 people at annual meeting (175x6, larger amt for Ben)
Financials (presented by Doug on behalf of Chris Dierkes):
o Projecting negative balance of $2780 at end of 2024
o Made some changes to reduce costs (remove CTP awards, food at annual
mtg; new feature - members pay their processing fees for tournaments)
o $23,335 revenue projected from 316 members (current, expect to rise to 342)
o Raised $3900 for donations in 2024

Keith Shiver would like to volunteer for managing skins game at away events;
decision to have skins option is always up to the TD
Overall, our tournaments are selling very well, mostly at capacity
Communications: For Q1, planning to send out newsletter on last Friday of January
o Capture both events from January
o Please send in photos and quotes (from winner)
o FB page: Doug/Patrick/Bill Yang to meet separately to discuss pla
