Palo Alto Golf Club – Board Meeting Minutes

November 2th, 2023

Attendance: Doug Marinkovich, Rafa Carmona, Nick Williams, Chris Dierkes, John Driver, Chuck Pickett,

James Kaku, Franco Montes, Jim Cowie.

• Call to order 5:30pm

• Approval of September and October minutes

• Problem Member Update – no response from member. Will continue to wait to see if he renews

for next year.

• 2024 Board Candidates – 3 people have put up their name for the board: Franco Montes, Niraj

Jain, and John Driver. There are 2 people scheduled to leave: James Kaku and Andrew Clausen.

• Junior Golf Donation Drive – email will go out soon for annual donation drive. We typically

collect around $1200.

• NCGA Annual meeting December 5th – meeting and golf at Poppy Hills. Doug will go with one

other board member

• Communications – Franco asked if someone could take pictures at TOC of Player of the year

winner. Doug will get this organized. Picture will be used to create a webpage for the Player of

the Year.

• Tournaments – Tournament of Champions this Saturday. Tee time change due to late sunrise

before time change. Will check on other upcoming events for tee times. Cinnabar finally locked

down for next year.

• Handicap – 26 soft caps, 1 hard cap. 1 on the edge of hard cap. This is only 6% of the club, which

is really good.

• Membership – Auto-renew was stopped by Member Planet. Individual members can set auto-

renew again if they want. Most people have not renewed yet, but we still have 2 months.

• Finance – The board has agreed that Chris Dierkes will take over bookkeeping duties from

Douglas Marinkovich beginning 1/1/2024. The board agrees to add Chris Dierkes to our Wells

Fargo account as an executive for the club.
