October, 2022 Board Minutes
The regular monthly meeting of the PAGC was called to order at 5:30PM.
Members Present: Marinkovich, Pickett, Barkley, Shiver, Zimmer, Kaku.
Members Absent: Black, Kirpekar, Clauson.
Guests: Heathorn, Driver
Approval of minutes, September 2022 Meeting: With changes noted for presentation to Wells Fargo in order to move the account from Barkley to Marinkovich, Marinkovich moved to approve, second by Pickett, approved.
Joey Faber has left Baylands so he will no longer be an honorary member after 12/31/22. A motion to add an additional $1 for online processing fee did not receive a second and was tabled. The payout for the Stroke Play Championship was short $707 dollars. The payment will be made to those players that qualified. The winners will be notified.
2023 Board of Directors: BOD members that are scheduled to term out - Zimmer, Kirpekar, Barkley, Shiver and Black. $80 dollar gift certificates will be provided for outgoing Board members.
New Board member nominees include Jim Cowie, Tom Byler, Rafa Carmona, Nick Williams, and Chris Dierkes.
Voting will take place on Member Planet. Trevor to assist Keith on setting it up. Officer nominations for 2023 are - President, Marinkovich; Treasurer, Dierkes; Handicap, Williams. Additional officers and directors to be named in January.
Communication Report: Marinkovich announced that the newsletter in September had a high click-thru rate(CTR). Black is looking for more content, e.g, highlighting winners, special stories - albatross, eagles - etc. Polls and surveys seeking input on tournament formats, and cancellation notice reminders were suggested.
Tournament Report: Pickett reported that Chris Hyland won the 2022 Match Championship. He is continuing to build the 2023 schedule. Several suggestions included Moffett, Bayview, Sharp Park, and Coyote Creek. Shiver to assist Pickett with the schedule and Kaku to assist with 2-day events. The Cancellation Policy will be posted on event announcements. There hasn't been a need for the wait list this season. Tournaments are averaging 54 per event.
Finance Report: No new members this past month. We have 369 members. Payments to the 1st Tee and Youth on Course will be made in December. Golf Genius fees will be raised next year by $100 to $875. PAGC agreement goes through August of 2023 so no decision re: renewal or fees needs attention right now. Marinkovich presented MTD and YTD income and expenses. Reports are available upon request.
Rules Report: A reminder will be sent to members.
Handicap Report: The master roster has been updated by Kaku.
