Palo Alto Golf Club – Board Meeting Minutes

September 7th, 2023

Attendance: Doug Marinkovich, Chuck Pickett, James Kaku, Rafael Carmona, Christopher Walker &

John Driver

Absent: Jim Cowie, Andrew Clauson, Chris Dierkes, Nick Williams & Franco Montes

• Approval of minutes from August 10th

• 2024 schedule – most courses are locked in and tournament directors assigned. We are waiting

on a couple courses to confirm dates. Chris W brought up the idea of changing the Directors Cup

to a different format to make it unique from the Stroke Play. The group was general agreeable

to the idea. We will likely try to do it as modified Stableford.

• TOC points system – Chris W has agreed to take over ownership of the TOC points table. Will

bring suggestion for changes to the October meeting. Will look at adding bonus points to overall

low gross and low net for the majors.

• Communications update – Franco is working on a newsletter. He is also setting up all the 2024

events on the website. James has input the events in Golf Genius.

• Tournaments – Half-Moon Bay event was highly successful. Lots of interest in going back to the

course. Match Play is down to final match. Stoke play championship is this weekend.

• Rafa and Doug went through Member Planet to adjust membership prices. We will keep the

junior membership prices the same and subsidize. Regular memberships will increase with the

increased cost from the NCGA.

• Finance – money is right on track to the budget. No new memberships since we are close to the

end of the year. Deposits are starting to go out for 2024 events.
